Marina Amstelkwartier, concept development through developer selection

In 2012 WA Yachting Consultants was commissioned by the municipality of Amsterdam to create a concept, undergo feasibility and seek a developer for a unique plot in the heart of Amsterdam.

The Amstelkwartier is set to become a new hotspot with around 5,000 houses and apartments on Amsterdam’s Amstel river. The final plan included a marina with 100 berths, a restaurant, bar and terrace, an Information Centre for electric boats including sales office, rental fleet and service point, a covered car park and a floating swimming pool. The financial feasibility study was conducted together with the municipality.

In 2013, WA was appointed member of the selection committee to first seek and then select a developer for the site. 52° NOORD was selected. The marina has been realized in 2015 and is already fully occupied. Pontoons are supplied by our Waterfronts NL partner Inter Boat Marinas. The restaurant and other facilities are ready in 2016.

For more information about this project, see the website of 52° NOORD.
